It had been an anniversary present; they'd been seeing each other for a full three months now, even if neither of them were particularly inclined to make them official dates. Intercourse and something resembling a relationship, yes, dates, no -- which is why Roy hadn't expected a gift, let alone...

Admittedly, Fullmetal always had been good at transmutation of objects. He showed an attention to detail on them that he didn't for most other things. The things he made were always perfectly-shaped, and Fullmetal was even at the level of alchemical skill where he could quite easily include moving parts and animate them.

He also had a strange tendancy to decorate them. Even if they were things he would never use again -- doors in a place he had to escape from, or a cannon for a test, or any of a broad variety of random transmuted objects -- he would cover them with elabourite carvings and enamel, making even the most basic things beautiful.

...still. On this?

Roy finally looked up to quirk an eyebrow at Ed's broad, shit-eating grin.

"Well, Fullmetal," Roy said, eventually. "I do appreciate that we will doubtless desire the use of a sexual aid to play with at some point or another..."

"Heh."

"...but can I ask the purpose behind the decorative carvings?" Roy quirked an eyebrow.

Ed leaned his elbow on Roy's desk, grin broadening. "I'd think that was obvious," he drawled.

"Ah?"

"It's ribbed for your pleasure, Mustang."
